In the darkness of his hotel room, Van sat in the lumpy easy chair by the window. He hadn’t moved from that spot since he saw ‘it’ getting into ‘its’ car. A vampire. He recognized the beast from his bio; Van never forgot a face. He shook his head and closed his eyes. A new plan of action needed to be made: what to do about Veronica?

Van Shoemaker. Devoted Father. Obsessive Red Sox fan. Heartbroken Widower.

Van, Veronica’s boss, is a hunter. He started his “business” after his wife was murdered by a vampire on her way to night school. It was not only a way to seek retribution for his wife’s untimely death, but to rid the world of all the evil he could get his hands on. It was only by chance that he showed up on Veronica’s doorstep to catch a wanted werewolf, only to arrive minutes too late. It was then that he took her under his wing and asked her to join the team.

Van has a good and a bad side, as you will find out. I don’t want to give too much away, but he seriously needs to check his anonymous tips a little more carefully. He’s in his mid 50’s, has salt and pepper hair and battle scars everywhere you look. While Van can be a little hot headed at times, he wants nothing but the best for his son, Allen, and will fight tooth and nail to make sure he gets it.
